About the Studio

We are a Brand+Web boutique studio that operates with kindness and relationships at its core. Our heart is to empower female entrepreneurs through a signature brand strategy process where we help you draw out and redefine the core purpose of your business.

Hark Studio started as a passion project, born out of casual conversations founder Kara had with others about branding, design, and web development. Because of the trust placed in her and the incredible relationships that were built, Kara wanted to share what she had with female entrepreneurs who needed the support.

Profit is the least of why we do what we do, and that tends to be true of the brands we help develop.

Meet Kara

FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

I’m a Filipina entrepreneur, a boy Mom to my sweetest toddler, and a wife to the most encouraging and hardworking man.

I know I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was young. I can’t count how many businesses I’ve started just because I love building and designing brands, only to realize I enjoy the process of crafting brands but not the actual process of running businesses. It took a while to find out, but the experience was more than worth it! I worked in the local advertising industry total of 3 years and realized the culture wasn’t for me. My husband then encouraged me to start an agency that reflected my own values, and so I did. Three years later, here we are!

If there’s anything we highly value in this studio: it’s kindness, relationships and time with self and family. As an INFP, I am motivated by my purpose and why I do what I do. For me, aside from being able to help my fellow fempreneurs achieve their dreams for their businesses, I also get to help them discover their own purposes for what they do and use that as leverage to propel their businesses to being more than for profit.

  • 01. My first ever business was when I was in Grade 3. I remember selling push pops and ring pops to my classmates.

    02. I absolutely love raw food—fresh sushi and my recent discovery, the Korean Yukhoe. And yes, I do like my steak medium rare.

    03. My absolute favorite and most special movie for me is Warm Bodies. Feel free to ask me why!

BRAND STRATEGIST & COPYWRITER

Meet Esther

Writing is my passion, and career-wise it eventually overrode many other paths I could have chosen. I started as a freelancer with writing for various brands, and then Kara entrusted me with first brand-related documents, and then websites, and then on to social media before finally empowering me to write brand stories and strategies. I always say it felt like a new superpower being unlocked! The opportunities to sit with the most amazing people and bring their brand stories to life is a whole other level of writing joy for me.

When I was young, I really wanted to sell ice cream—so I could eat it whenever I wanted! I still love ice cream. Better than that, I found a career where I get to consume what I produce. My hope is to someday support multiple advocacies and NGOs by strengthening their brand stories and empowering them to amplify their voices to those who need to hear them.

  • 01. I have been a martial artist since 2010! It is my longest-running passion after writing.

    02. The sea calls to me more than the mountains do.

    03. I’m a fan of P-Pop group ALAMAT because as someone whose genes and upbringing come from all over the Philippines, I love and appreciate their diversity.

Meet Charm

I am someone who aspires to use my work values, skills, and experiences to make a positive difference in the media and entertainment industry. From connecting brands with their target market to supporting advocacies, collaborating with fellow content creators, and producing/directing creative projects, I see how everything comes together.

Believe it or not, I never imagined myself as a digital creator as a child, I'd always thought that I'd be an accountant since I had been inspired by my parents. But I guess God really moves in the most mysterious ways! From trying to run away from my "impractical" and "unsustainable" passions, I am now running towards them with faith, purpose, grit, and perseverance. With my skills and talents, I aim to make the unheard, heard.

    02. It is one of my dreams to travel around the world—to experience various cultures, capture beautiful places, meet and understand different people.
